The Asian Film Archive was founded in January 2005 as a non-profit organisation to preserve the rich film heritage of Singapore and Asian Cinema, to encourage scholarly research on film, and to promote a wider critical appreciation of this art form. AFA runs regular film programs at the Oldham Theatre, located at the National Archives of Singapore building along Canning Rise. The 132-seat cinema is equipped to exhibit films from 4K digital projection to traditional 35mm.

Oldham Theatre, Singapore

Managed by the Asian Film Archive, Oldham Theater is the first local theatre dedicated to Asian Cinema. A screening space located at the National Archives of Singapore, the 135-seater hall is equipped with Dolby Atmos surround sound, 4K digital and 35mm-film format projection capabilities, capable of screening formats ranging from 4k digital projection to traditional 35mm reels.. The Asian Film Archive will be launching regular film programme series consisting of screenings and a variety of events at the Theatre which is perfect for screening the beautifully restored works courtesy of the AFA.
